Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is one of the most common materials used in construction. Unfortunately, during its lifetime MDF emits Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds which are toxic to human beings. Furthermore, the material is not recyclable and therefore usually disposed of in landfills or incinerated.
At Biprocel, a new eco-sustainable material named eco-MDF has been developed using cellulosic waste as raw material. The manufacturing of this innovative product only requires cellulosic waste, water, pressure, and heat. Its impressive strength, durability, and designability properties make eco-MDF the perfect alternative to wood as well as wood-based materials. The manufacturing process and the factories are designed to have zero environmental impact, making eco-MDF a safe and eco-friendly construction material.
Inveniam supported Biprocel in the presentation of the project for the Phase II of the SME Instrument.
